Recently I have received a packet from Veteran’s Inc. concerning a housing-stability focused service delivery program for very low-income veteran families throughout New England. The program services include outreach, case management, assistance in obtaining VA benefits, and assistance in obtaining and coordinating other public benefits. Veteran families that meet eligibility criteria will also be able to take advantage of limited temporary financial assistance payments, as deemed necessary to prevent or overcome homelessness. The payments will be made by Veterans Inc. to third parties on behalf of Veterans for such purpose as rent payments, utility payments, security deposits, moving costs and other associated costs.
The program will serve 400 very low-income Veteran families that are homeless or imminently at-risk of homelessness. There is a thorough intake and assessment of needs based upon presenting problem(s) and history.
The program and application forms will be at the Post home for review. The case managers are Rachael Bolmer-Mudge (VT) at 508 340-3327 or Mike Brien (NH) at 603 668-1877.
Membership is always on-going. If you have paid your 2012, that’s great, but if not there is still time for Post 22 to meet its’ deadlines. So, step up and get us over the top with your paid-up dues!!
