Chapter 6 - Director's Corner

Greetings everyone:

The holidays have come and gone and, I hope they were great for everyone.  As we start 2010, let's all remember our troops near and far and, keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Dave and Bernie Hoisington hosted a wonderful gathering at their home for their nephew Lee Hoisington, who will be deploying shortly for Afghanistan.  Lee also got to meet Angela, one of our Auxiliary Juniors, who will be his pen pal during his deployment.  Our prayers are with him.  Pictures will be posted on the Post's website under Legion Rider's..so stay tuned!

At our January meeting,  installation of new Chapter officers were in order.  The ceremony was performed by our Post Commander Gary Dunn.  Thank you Commander Dunn for your support.

New officers are as follows;
Director - Paul Tibbits, Assistant Director - Jack Tibbits, Secretary - Alaina Murphy, Treasurer - Alice Tibbits, Sgt. at Arms - Michael Beaulieu, Run Coordinator - Roger Young, Jr., Historian - Theresa Tibbits,
Chaplain - Bruce Turner, Judge Advocate - Wendell McMillan. I wish to thank all former officers for all their time and support, along with our members and, appreciate your continued support in helping make this program of the Legion a success.

Along with our Post, our Chapter recently hosted the American Legion Riders State Meeting on the 17th of January, which also was our NFL Sunday.  All monies raised went to the Legacy Scholarship Fund. Thank you everyone who came and helped out.

Planning is underway for a "statewide" American Legion Riders Poker Run to support the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.  The Legacy Scholarshipfunds the college education for children of veterans who died on or since 11 September 2001.  WE are looking forward to chapter support in aidingthis great cause.

For God and Country

Paul Tibbits
